Le Cargo, the new adventure of Gerard d’Aboville :

After crossing the oceans alone and sailing around the world on a solar boat, Gérard d'Aboville created the first-ever market place specialized in the equipment of water sports and recreation, dubbed Le Cargo. Seconded by Fanny Adam, co-founder / director of development of the company and surrounded by a team of experts in their field of excellence, Le Cargo is an unprecedented web platform for sales and purchases, open since 21 June 2017. Le Cargo is fully specialized in sports and water sports. The site, which includes more than 200,000 product references posted by thousands of professional and private sellers registered on Le Cargo, represents today the largest nautical equipment market. The new and second-hand products are classified in 8 themes: boat supplies, boardsports, diving, fishing, dinghies and kayaks, marine decoration, maritime bookstore and clothing.

Gérard d’Aboville


Pioneer of solo oceanic rowing crossings, Member of the European Parliament, President of the Maritime and Fluvial Heritage Foundation and for 22 years of the Supreme Council of the Boating and Watersports, Captain of Planet Solar, the first solar boat to have completed a round the world trip, Gerard d'Aboville has been an emblematic figure of boating for more than 40 years. He is now CEO of Le Cargo.

Fanny Adam

Director of development

Ph.D. in marine sciences, business executive, globetrotter and passionate about sailing since her childhood where she learned very early on the family boat the basics of boating and regatta, Fanny Adam loves to meet the challenges and to open new horizons. Now Executive Director, she imagined and developed Le Cargo next to Gerard d'Aboville. Fanny currently manages Cargo's three business divisions: technical, commercial and marketing, bringing together more than twenty people.

Samantha Davies (UK)

British sailor and graduate engineer from Cambridge University, reading her record on the water impresses. Dozens of races - from the smallest to the most legendary, including the Vendée Globe, the Volvo Ocean Race and the Solitaire du Figaro - are linked together, as many stories to tell.
Samantha is actively preparing the Transat Jacques Vabre with Paul Meilhat on Imoca Initiatives-Coeur, then she will start the Vendée Globe in 2020, the most legendary solo race around the world.

Antoine Albeau (France)

Boardsports Expert

Athlete with the most beautiful list of French sailing. Since 1994, Antoine has been crowned 25 times world champion in various disciplines of windsurfing and several speed records, the last of which in 2015: 53.25 knots. Antoine is the most successful sportsman in French history and was crowned Sailor of the Year 2010 by the French Sailing Federation, a real recognition for funboard and a new dynamic for young athletes in his wake.

Camille Lecointre (France)

Dinghy Expert

Athlete of the French team of Olympic Sailing and graduated from a Master of chemistry of the University of Western Brittany, Camille evolves on the international circuit since 2004.
In 2016 she won the title of World Champion and a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics in 470.
After winning a title of European Champion in may 2019 with Eloise Retornaz, Camille is currently preparing for the “Pole France” in view of the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.

Umberto Pelizzari (Italy)

Umberto, undisputed master of deep apnea with 16 world records to his credit, is the first man to exceed 80 meters in constant weight, 130 meters in variable weight and to cross the wall of 150 meters in no limit. This world record-holder has also popularized the practice of yoga and sophrology, taught to him by Jacques Mayol, as a technique of preparation and concentration in apnea. With a lung capacity of 7.9 liters, Umberto can stay in apnea for more than 7 minutes ...
